What is the difference between "Fixed rate," "Hourly," and "Bid?"
Each job can be posted as “Fixed rate,” “Hourly,” or “Bid.”
Fixed rate: you are offering a fixed amount of money regardless of how many hours the job may take. In case you are not getting any applicants or chat with a prospect applicant and feel that you need to increase the price for him to accept the job, you may make such change while offering the job or just edit the amount in the job posting.
Hourly: how much you are willing to pay per hour. The applicant will put the number of hours he thinks it will take him to do the job. You, then may simply select an applicant and accept the suggested number of hours or chat with the applicant(s) and agree on some amount before sending out the offer.
Bid: you are putting the job out for applicants to bid on.
